This morning was the first Peasedown Peddlers ride of the year and it was good to get out with the boys again. As always, Sunday morning rides are a tremendous boost to my mental health and the crisp, slightly chilly and foggy morning added to the enjoyment.
Good company and a steady pace makes such a difference and the social element of riding in a group has really benefitted me, allowing me to build conversation with people about a shared interest.
The Peddlers are a great group. We aren’t an official cycling group, but we try to go out on most Sunday mornings for a 20-30 mile ride together. Not a fast pace by group standards at 12-14mph but perfect to make it fun, enjoyable and, of course, great for physical and mental health. Today, though, you could really tell it was winter – mucky lanes and a VERY mucky bike tell a story of 26 sticky miles, but fun miles. Thanks to Steve for the route and to him and Paul for the company.
